About the Central Sierra Historical Society & Museum
The Central Sierra Historical Society & Museum Inc. is a non-profit museum located in Shaver Lake, CA.
As a historical society, we felt an obligation to document the catastrophic changes happening in the Sierra Nevada forests. It is our hope that this site serves as an educational portal where visitors can access videos, articles, and photo content that provides them with an understanding of the historic level of tree die-off.
The mission of the Central Sierra Historical Society is to enrich the cultural and educational experiences of visitors to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, by deepening their understanding of the human and natural history of this area. CSHS hopes to inspire future generations by bringing to life the challenges and achievements of the people who lived here.
